Gala Report 23rd February 2008

Nuneaton & Bedworth Junior Gala at Pingles 25m pool

Another Victory for Chase Junior Squad

This gala was on the cards as being a difficult one, as Chase Junior Squad were up against Nuneaton A, Nuneaton B, Hayden Hill, Camp Hill, Kingsbury, Bilston and Phoenix Youth swimming clubs.
After the first quarter results Chase were in a respectable 3rd place, just behind Nuneaton A, with Phoenix Youth taking an early lead. By the third quarter results, (and a re-count due to a technical glitch) Chase had took the lead. At this point the atmosphere turned electric. The Chase supporters put their all behind the team, who went on to win the gala by a fantastic 26 point margin over second place Nuneaton A.
Once again the rookie 9 year olds showed focus and determination, winning 6 of their age group events.
There was individual success for Mitch Bates, Peter Sullivan, Kayleigh Ghent, and Jake Jones.
Every swim provided at least 4 points per event, and every point counts. So the whole team as listed below should be proud of the part they played in this gala. Keep it up
The team that represented the club were as follows:
9 year olds - Taela Yeomans-Brown, Vicky Egan, Kayleigh Ghent, Chloe Jones, Callum Arris, Gabe Butler, George Foster, Jake Jones, & Aaron Harvey
10 year olds - Hannah Gladwin, Harriet Roberts, Joe Felton, & Jay Duffin
11 year olds - April Arnold, Abbie Lloyd, Bessie Baker, Zoe Foster, Jack Toy-Mills, Joe Kinsell, Rhys Seymour & Jack Neale
12 year olds - Christie Ghent, Chloe Smith, Peter Sullivan & Mitch Bates

Thanks as always, has to go to the Team Managers, Karen Ghent, & Barry Sullivan, Pool side helper Ann Seymour, and Chase officials, Dawn Baker & Andy Bates.

And a special thank you to Junior Coach, Debbie, from the Squad for the celebratory McDonalds.
