Stourbridge Junior Meet - 20th May 2007

Chase Swimming Club took 19 swimmers to the 2007 Stourbridge Junior B Grade meet held at Wolverhampton Central Baths on 20th May. All swimmers, aged 9-12 yrs old, performed brilliantly with many returning home with trophies which were awarded down to 8th place and crystal cut glasses award to the winners of each event.

In the 9 yr old boys age group Jack Neale achieved a 2nd in the 50m freestyle and two 6th places in 50m backstroke & 50m breaststroke, Joe Kinsell was 8th in 50m breaststroke. Success continued for the 9 yr old girls with Bria Wort achieving 2nd in the 50m backstroke & Lauren Hurley doing well for a 6th in 50m backstroke & 7th in 50m butterfly.

For the 10 yr old boys Matthew Holroyd & Adam Lamb both won a crystal glass in the 50m backstroke and 100IM respectively, with Matthew also getting a 3rd in 50m breaststroke and Adam a 4th in 50m butterfly. Reiss Seymour received a 4th in 50m freestyle, 7th in 50m backstroke and a speeding ticket in 100IM. The 10 yr old girls also had a lot of success with Chloe Smith winning a crystal glass for 50m breaststroke and 2nd in 100IM, Abbie Lloyd received two 2nd places in 50m backstroke & 50m butterfly as well as a 6th in the 100IM & Zoe Foster achieving 3rd in 50m breaststroke.

In the 11 yr old boys Stefan Wright received a 5th in 50m freestyle and 7th in 50m backstroke.

The 12 yr old girls were represented by Grace Murphy & Ellis Wort. Grace received 2nd in 50m butterfly, 6th in 50m freestyle and 8th in 100IM. Ellis received 3rd in 50m backstroke & 7th in 50m breaststroke.

Other swimmers representing Chase on the day were Jay Duffin, Megan Rowley, Harriet Roberts, Ashley Zazulak, Thomas Joiner & Charlotte Place with many personnel best time being achieved between them. Also many thanks to the supporting parents who cheered on each single swimmer
