The fifth Phoenix Youth Swimming Club Open Meet was well attended by Chase Swimmers on Saturday 18th February 2007.

22 swimmers represented the club swimming in age groups from 9 years all the way through to 15+.
All the swimmers performed well, with several taking home medals and/or trophies.

Within the 9 yr. old boys’ category, Joe Kinselll achieved two 3rd places in the 50m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly with Jack Sanders taking 5th place in the 50m Butterfly and 6th in the 50m Freestyle. Jack also achieved a 5th place in the 50m Backstroke. Matthew Holroyd achieved a 5th place in the 50m Breaststroke with Jack Neale finishing just behind in 6th place in the same event.

For the 9 yr. old girls Bethany Baker achieved 4th place in the 50m Butterfly and 5th place in both the 50m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke. Emily McIntosh had a super swim to achieve 3rd place in the 50m Breaststroke. Also swimming in the 9yr. old age group were Bria Wort and April Arnold who both swam well and were great ambassadors for Chase.

In the 10 year old age group Adam Lamb achieved 3rd place in the 200m Freestyle, 4th place in the 50m Butterfly along with 4th in the 50m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke, he also achieved 6th place in the 50m Breaststroke. Joe Sefton achieved 6th place in the 50m Butterfly.

For the girls there were wins in the 50m, 100m Butterfly and the 50m Freestyle for Christie Ghent. Christie also achieved 6th place in the 100m and 50m Back-stroke along with a 3rd place in the 100m and 200m Freestyle.
Abbie Lloyd also swam well achieving 6th place in the 200m Freestyle and 5th in the 50m Butterfly.

Peter Sullivan was the only 11 year old competitor from Chase, accomplishing a win in the 50m Backstroke. He also finished 5th in the 50m Butterfly, 50m Freestyle and 200m Freestyle. He also achieved a 3rd in the 50m and 100m Breaststroke.

The swimmers in the 12 year old category also achieved excellent results with wins for Jade Brown in both the 50m Freestyle and the 50m Butterfly.
Jade also accomplished 2nd place in the 100m Butterfly as well as 100m and 200m Freestyle along with a 5th place in the 50m Backstroke and 200m I.M.
Brogan Griffiths achieved 6th place in the 100m Butterfly. Also swimming in the 12 year old age group were Ellis Wort and Joseph Chambers who both swam very well, well done to you all.

There were just 2 Chase swimmers competing in the 13 year old age group.
Alice Whitehouse who achieved a 3rd and a 4th in the 200m I.M and 100m Breaststroke respectively. Alice also achieved 5th in both the 50m and 100m Freestyle. Alice Preece got a well deserved 3rd in the 50m Butterfly along with 50m and 100m Breaststroke, and 4th in the 50m Freestyle.

Chase had one competitor in the 14 year old age group in Robyn Brown. Robyn swam exceptionally well to accomplish wins in the 50m Breaststroke, 50m, 100m and 200m Freestyle and the 100m Butterfly. Robyn also finished 2nd in the 50m Butterfly and 200m I.M.

The 15 year old age group was represented by two swimmers from Chase. Jamie Barter and Jack Wort. Jamie swam well to win the 50m and 100m Backstroke. He also achieved a 3rd in the 50m Butterfly and 4th in the 50m Freestyle. Jack finished 4th in 100m Butterfly and 200m Freestyle along with 5th in the 200m I.M

Once again Chase was well represented by both swimmers and supporters.
Everyone showed enormous support to each other and a good day was had by all.
