Welcome

Welcome to Chase Swimming Club. We hope that the time that you spend with the Club will be very rewarding.


Club Policy Statement

It is the policy of Chase Swimming Club to offer opportunities for athletes within age group level, youth level, and open categories.
The Club's development programme for those members who wish to compete competitively is based upon the Amateur Swimming Association's Swim 21 Skill Development Programme.
The Club is an active member of Staffordshire Active Sports Swimming Action Group.

This must be completed by all members and the Club must be informed if there are any changes to contact telephone numbers or medical conditions so that current information is available in an emergency.

Affiliation

The Club is affiliated to A.S.A. West Midland Region & Staffordshire A.S.A.


 

Administration

An elected committee manages the Club. Meetings are held on the first Sunday of each month.


 

Club Constitution

The Club's rules are defined in the constitution. A copy of the constitution can be obtained from the secretary on request.


 

Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting is held in December. All parents and members are welcome to attend.

Development Programme


 

Swim 21

Swim 21 is the ASA's club development programme. The purpose of Swim 21 is to enable ASA clubs to help their swimmers to achieve their full potential.
Chase Swimming Club will be applying for "Skill Development" accreditation. This level of accreditation is for clubs that develop swimmers that participate In Inter School, Inter Club, County or District Age Group competitions.
There are four sections to be addressed in order to gain Swim 21 accreditation. These are: -

1. Swimmer Development.
2. Teacher / Coach Education and Development.
3. Club Management.
4. Partnerships.

Section 1 identifies the opportunities and support available for the swimmers.
Section 2 deals with providing the best opportunities for the swimmers by developing good quality coaches.
Section 3 identifies the area that needs to be considered in order to have an effective club management system.
Section 4 covers the links that need to be established with other organizations that will benefit the club.

Child Protection and Welfare

The safety and welfare of all swimmers within the Club is the first consideration of all coaching staff and the committee.
The club has a Child Welfare Officer who will act confidentially as an adviser and give help to any swimmer.

Equity

Chase Swimming Club is committed to treat everyone equally within the context of their activity, regardless of sex, ethnic origin, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation or political persusion.
The club will ensure that equity as stated in the club rules is incorporated in all aspects of it's activities and also recognises and adopts the Sport England definition of Sports Equity.

The Club is committed to everyone having the right to enjoy their sport in an environment free from threat of discrimination, intimidation, harassment and abuse. All Club members have a responsibility to challenge discriminatory
behaviour and promote equality of opportunity.


The Club will deal with any incidence of discriminatory behaviour seriously, according to the club disciplinary procedures.


 

Club Code of Conduct

Be a good ambassador for the club.
At all times behave in a decent and respectful manner to other swimmers, parents and coaches.
Report anything immediately that may affect your safety or that of others.
Do not endanger the health and safety of others.
Safeguard and respect the pool equipment and facilities.
To give your best at all times, in training and competition.
Swimmers, Parents and Coaches agree to follow the Code of Conduct as laid down by the ASA.
